Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks to the wonderful support of our community, the James H. Cole Legacy Foundation is not currently in need of volunteers. However, we have a number of partner programs who are welcoming new volunteers at this time, including:
The mission of the Pure Heart Foundation is to embrace and empower children whose parents are incarcerated with the end goal of stopping generational involvement in the criminal justice system. Located in Detroit, Michigan, Pure Heart Foundation assists underserved children of incarcerated parents throughout the state. Reach Out: (586) 690-1431
Bethlehem House is a shelter for homeless, working women (ages 35-65) who do not have any children. The mission of Bethlehem House is to provide a home environment for women as they work to get back on their feet. Essential education and services are also provided, such as counseling, money management, and Bible study for those who are interested. Reach Out: (313) 923-6435
COTS provides opportunities and resources to build strong, stable households, neighborhoods, and communities. Families are provided with necessary assistance to achieve their goals when it comes to housing, health, education, and careers as they strive to overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for future generations. Reach Out: (313) 862-3234
Named after Patrick Hill, a police officer who passed in the line of duty in 2013, the PH1LL Foundation was created to honor Officer Hill and provide resources to the Detroit community where he grew up, lived, and worked.
